A study conducted in 1998 in Scotland, published in the Archives of Dermatology, showed that several essential oils were effective in treating alopecia areata – hair loss – assisting the participants in re-growing hair.
Participants of this particular study applied a blend of essential oils that included cedarwood, lavender, rosemary, and thyme, in the carrier oils of jojoba and grapeseed. The blend was applied to their scalp daily. The control group used just the carrier oils. Forty-four percent of the study members of the active group saw improvement in hair growth. The obvious conclusion was that the essential oils are a safe and effective remedy for hair loss. HOW WOULD WE USE THIS MIXTURE? Well, obviously we’re not privy to the recipe and specifics of the blend used for this study, but, you could make a blend of the following: 10 drops Lavender 5 drops Cedarwood 5 drops Rosemary (verbenone) 1 drop Thyme Thymol Mix well into 1 oz desired Carrier oil. Blend well. Warm by placing bottle the mixture is in into a bowl of hot water. When appropriately warm, apply to hair and scalp. Wrap with a warm moist towel, over-wrap with a dry towel. Leave on for 20 – 30 minutes. We recommend NamanaLiri Essential Oils! http://namanaliri.com/products/essential-oils/
